This wood and stone bungalow was built in 1954 by Mike and Joe Fabrizio and John Kokena for Deri and Dolores Forbis. It was later purchased by Josephine Milano in 1966.

MarchFourth Selects Student Poster for Tour
The DBA’s annual Monarch High School Street Faire Poster Contest took a cool turn when opening act MarchFourth requested permission to use the pictured poster as the feature art for their upcoming tour.
Band member Dan Stauffer saw student artist Cole Conley’s work while perusing the poster contest exhibit at the Louisville Library before their June 17 show. Cole, a MHS sophomore, wants to be a graphic designer. Congratulations Cole!
The DBA would also like to give a shout out to Monarch art teacher Claudia Lastella and the Library’s Sean Lamborne for helping make this tradition such a fun event for everyone involved.
Relay for Life

The American Cancer Society (ACS) Relay for Life will take place Saturday, August 6, 2016 from 6:00 pm – 6:00 am at Waneka Lake in Lafayette. It is free and open to the public and held rain or shine. The ACS calls Relay for Life a life-changing event that gives everyone in communities across the globe a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer. Its never too early to start thinking about pie and registering for the best pie contest in Boulder County! Registration forms are available at The Huckleberry. Pre-registration is recommended and if you register by noon Sunday September 4 at the Huck, you will receive a coupon for a free chai. The categories are Apple, Fruit and Nut and Cream pies. Grand prize is dinner for 4 at the Huckleberry, a photo at The Huckleberry’s Pie Hall of Fame and a champion pie plate. First prize for each category is tea for two at the Huck and a Fall Festival pie contest apron.

10 Year Anniversary Open House

The Library will observe the 10-year anniversary of its award-winning building with an Open House from 1:00 – 3:00 pm. Cake and lemonade will be served. No speeches or ceremonies are planned, but there will be a community art project for children and a drop-in program in the Library’s new Makerspace. With Irlen Syndrome, perceptual processing can break down in the brain, with an effect on dyslexia, ADHD, migraines, light sensitivity, and learning disabilities. Research has shown The Irlen Method to be effective with brain injuries, concussions, high anxiety, AD/HD, light sensitivities, dyslexia, and other learning problems. Presented by Marcia Klump, MA, SEP, BCST, a body-centered psychotherapist and craniosacral therapist practicing in the Boulder area.
Curatorial Cleaning of the Rex Theatre Curtain

Come watch conservator Lisa Capano work on a curatorial cleaning of the historic Rex Theatre movie curtain at the Historical Museum! This painted canvas curtain that dates back to the late 1920 shows advertisements of Louisville businesses. Lisa Capano previously cleaned Louisville’s antique safe that resides at City Hall.
