Downtown Dialogue - What's Up Downtown

TIDBITS

Historic Preservation Building

This month in conjunction with the Historic Preservation Commission, we are featuring:

Caranci House
1145 Main St.

Built in approximately 1908, this house was owned by the Caranci family from 1927 to 1993, giving it an association with Italian immigrants, coal mining, local businesses, and civic service. Ray Caranci and his wife, Nadine Harris Caranci, live in Louisville and have been deeply involved in the community. Ray had a business, Louisville Electric, on Main Street for many years and served on the Louisville City Council.

For more information about Louisville’s Historic Preservation Program contact Felicity Selvoski, 303-335-4594, felicity@louisvilleco.gov.

Parade of Lights!
The Parade of Lights is one of Louisville’s favorite traditions! Be a part of the parade this year by entering as a float or walking group. This is a great opportunity for team building and also getting your business in front of the thousands who attend. So show your community and holiday spirit by entering. More info go to www.louisvillechamber.com

LouisVillage
Ever seen or heard of LouisVillage? It’s downtown Louisville’s holiday shopping and activities program that the DBA, LAD, Chamber, City and downtown businesses have been hosting for the last 4 years! We try to turn downtown into a winter village with festive lights and decorations, carriage rides, WinterSkate, weekend visits with Santa, and other fun activities for shoppers and families alike. We are gearing up for our annual advertising campaign and ask for any and all downtown businesses, especially retail and restaurants, to consider giving a minimum of $100 to our advertising fund because we do this for YOU! All help is appreciated! Please contact Jenni at The Singing Cook jenni@singingcookstore.com or Janet at Creative Framing Gallery for more information.

Be on the LDBA Board!
The Louisville Downtown Business Association is still seeking applicants for our Board of Directors. The Board determines the policy direction of the Association, sponsors events (including the Street Faire, special projects and events, etc.), advocates for Downtown business, initiates and implements Downtown improvement projects (such as the original Main Street patios), produces the Downtown Dialogue and other website/media communications, and anything we and our members feel passionate about. The Board is most interested in candidates who will interface with the Downtown services sector and who will assist with communications, IT and graphics, and can commit to a 3 year term. The Board meets monthly, currently at 8:00 am on the second Thursday of the month. Please send letters of interest and a brief summary of qualifications to the LDBA. Thank you!
