Fourth of July Fireworks and Celebration!

The Louisville Chamber of Commerce invites you to Fourth of July Fireworks and Celebration at the Coal Creek Golf Course. From 6:00 – 10:00 pm enjoy this free annual community celebration that includes a live patriotic music performance, food trucks, inflatables, free face painting and more! Fireworks beginning at dark (approximately 9:30 pm) and a friendly reminder there is no parking available at the golf course. Free shuttles run from the Home Depot or Louisville Recreation Center parking lot from 6:00 – 11:00 pm. More info.

As the human population grows, more houses are built, more lights are turned on, and we see much less of the night sky. Astronomers lament this problem, but it also causes difficulties for wildlife and humans. Boulder County has participated in a dark sky study the last four years in collaboration with other Front Range agencies to track areas where darkness still reigns after sunset. Learn about this issue in more detail, see what Boulder County is doing to protect dark skies, view a new map that shows our darkest areas of the county, and find out what you can do to promote dark sky health.
