Jack Miller

Put Me in Coach!
Meet Jack Miller, Coal Creek Elementary School student and CSU football player. That’s right, Jack was added to the Ram’s Roster in 2013. At 4'1 and 53 lbs, he makes up in courage what he lacks in size. This football-loving young man has been battling brain tumors for the last six years and is doing Louisville proud as an ongoing inspiration to players, coaches and all who meet him.

Meet Luna, a one year old Husky mix. Luna spends her days greeting customers at Assorted Goods and Candy on Front Street. Like most things in this charming shop, Luna is very sweet. She loves children, and adults, and would not turn down a pet or a belly rub if offered.

Winter’s coming and Boulder Creek Events’ WinterSkate is already breaking ground and scheduled to open November 15. Look for the beloved Carriage Rides starting November 29. And you might see the installers of our new beautiful holiday lights downtown, starting to adorn the streets with more dazzle this year. If you check the local papers in November, you’ll see the Downtown Louisville Holiday ad. And if you check our website near Thanksgiving, you’ll see an all new look and feel! Artists Reception

The Gallery will feature artists Michelle Phillip, Sheri Farabaugh, Tammy Sliz and Andy Schwartz at a reception showcasing their talented works. Live music by Adam Revell rounds out the night. Be sure to check it out. The exhibit runs through January 24.

Bring boot donations to the office anytime between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm Monday – Friday. No steel toe boots please. Share the warmth.

National Novel Writer’s Month (NaNoWriMo) Kickoff meeting

November is National Novel Writer’s Month (NaNoWriMo) and with support from the NaNoWriMo community, the Louisville Public Library and Cultural Council, you could complete a 50,000 word novel in 30 days! The ‘Come Write In’ program is for those aspiring authors who need a kickstart. Each Wednesday in November, the Library will host inspirational networking meetings for writers to share ideas and support one another. Go get famous.

There’s a new tenant at Armadillo Acres – and she’s wreaking havoc all over Florida’s most exclusive trailer park. When Pippi, the stripper on the run, comes between the Dr. Phil-loving, agoraphobic Jeannie and her tollbooth collector husband, the storms begin to brew. Lyrics and music by David Nehls, Book by Betsy Kelso. Performances are Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 pm, Sundays at 2:00 pm. Not recommended for kids under 14.

Birding Boulder County
Through the Seasons

This program will explore where to find and how to identify some of the birds that call Boulder County home. You will hear about the many challenges that birds face and how they adapt. The seasonal story of birds in Boulder County will take you through an amazing range of ecosystems and habitats and will introduce you to the wide range of Boulder County Open Space properties. You will also hear about some of the migratory birds that return to or pass through Boulder County during the year. All ages welcome. Presented by Boulder County Parks & Open Space volunteer naturalists Vicki Braunagel and Leslie Larson.

What is Mindful Meditation and how can you benefit from it? Mindful meditation has been proven to be valuable for one’s physical and emotional health and to bring about a greater sense of happiness. Some of the areas it helps with are: reducing anxiety and worry, helping deal with pain, reducing the mind chatter in one’s daily life, and helping become a more focused and centered individual. Taught by Jill Kranitz, BFA, MA, CHHC, this session will help you learn more about the practice, and how it can improve the quality of your life.
