Meet Pirate Hubbard-Hughes. The eight month old 3/4 Australian Cattle Dog and 1/4 Border Collie mix thoroughly enjoys his walks Downtown with caretaker Annie and big brother Rusty. Pirate especially enjoys his visits with Kara at Ville De Luxe.

Louisville Gets Wild Animal Preserve License
Louisville was one of three American cities awarded a coveted Wild Animal Preserve designation. "This is one more reason that Louisville is such a cool place to live," says City Manager Malcolm Fleming, pictured above at the new off-leash cat park with recently acquired Bengal Tiger, Gengis. Gengis will make his public debut at a "meet and greet" at the April City Council meeting. "We're thrilled to have Gengis in town" said Council member Frost Yarnell, who added with a sly smile, "I just might sneak a steak into Councilman Keany's back pocket at the meet and greet."
According to Ms. Yarnell, the city hopes to add three animals a year, including a pair of Grizzlies in time for the first Street Faire.

Anne Sheehan, professor of geophysics at the University of Colorado Boulder, will share her research that has included work in the Himalaya, New Zealand, the Colorado Rocky Mountains, and the Rio Grande Rift.
