poster artist Ashley Ecklund
It’s a Beautiful Poster

“This is professional caliber” was the mantra when judges saw Ashley Ecklund’s winning piece for the Street Faire poster contest. Ashley (pictured above with her work) shared top honors with Connor Etges (bottom right) and Alex Blazon.

The annual contest is a collaboration between the DBA and Monarch High School art teacher Claudia Overton’s advanced class. Students have to include the band name, date, and the Faire logo. “Other than that, there are no rules, and the explosion of creativity from the kids is a wonderful thing to see,” said a Faire representative.

The posters will be professionally printed and given away free at the It’s a Beautiful Day show on July 16th.
